Espresso Martini

Welcome to the Puppet Tavern! It’s Espresso Martini Day somewhere, so we’re appropriately making the Espresso Martini.

The most famous coffee cocktail to emerge since the Irish Coffee, it was created in the early 1980s by Dick Bradsell, the late godfather of the London cocktail renaissance.

Coffee and cocktail culture have evolved since then, and this drink is much improved because of it. Mr. Black was created with these cultures in mind.

So come along with Bennett as he explores this beloved yet controversial cocktail, its history, how to make it at home, and how you can tweak it for something you might enjoy even more.

Espresso Martini

1.5oz. Vodka (Ketel One)

1oz. Fresh Espresso (from Variety Coffee Roasters)

.75oz. Coffee Liquor (Mr. Black)

.25oz. Rich Simple Syrup

Directions: Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake. Strain into a coupe and garnish with three coffee beans if you are using them.

Want to create an outstanding Espresso Martini without an espresso machine? Cold brew concentrate is an excellent substitute.
